Bhagyashri succefully finished her Masters degree in Biotechnology from Bharathidasan University, India. Since June 2009 she has been a member of IGS-DHD program.

At present she is working under Prof. Angelika Noegel and her area of research is Regulation of the actin cytoskeleton by an interaction of IQGAP related protein GAPA with Filamin. 

Filamin is a F-actin crosslinking protein in Dictyostelium discoideum allowing actin filaments to form three-dimensional networks. Using knockout mutants and protein-protein interactions, we are investigating how is this activity regulated and which proteins could modulate its property to cross-link actin filaments.
